Top Five TV Characters I'd Like to Defriend on Facebook

A friend called last week and said she was shocked to discover someone had defriended/unfriended her on Facebook. She was more than a touch peeved that he had blocked her access to him.  It started me thinking about a lot of people one would like to "defriend" to put an end to their constant barrage of family photos and status updates. It's harder to do in real life but would be oh-so-easy to do with my least favorite TV characters.

So here is my list of the top five people on TV I would most definitely like to block and why:

1. Brothers & Sisters: Nora Walker

All the Walkers are so annoyingly in each other's business, it was hard to pick just one but my vote goes to Nora.  She is biologically incapable of detaching from her family and her constant wail of "But I can't just sit around and do nothing!" drives me crazy.

2. The Big Bang Theory: Dr. Sheldon Cooper

Annoyingly quirky, this science savant is addicted to those quizzes that ask "Which Star Trek character are you?" and he is ALWAYS Spock. Maddening logical.  Live long and prosper Sheldon – without me.

3. Desperate Housewives: Bree Van de Kamp

The ultimate control freak and maven of all things tasteful, she can shoot you down with a withering glance and a smug smile. But I'm tired of her shameless self-promotion and endless requests to join her fan page. A tasteful ta-ta to Mrs. Mason Van de Kamp Hodge!

4. Grey's Anatomy: Cristina Yang

Cristina is all about Cristina and her career. She claims to be a friend but if there's nothing in it for her, she's really not all that interested. And don't hug her. Ever. I can't take any more of her constant whining about Meredith getting more surgeries. Boo hoo to you. Time of Facebook death: Now!

5. 24: Chloe O'Brian

A brilliant but morose heroine. With a perpetually jutting lower lip, heavy sighs and eye rolling, this woman is NEVER happy. Everything bugs her – her husband, her kid, her job, her boss. She should be grateful she has a job. With her superior attitude and lack of social skills, she even tries Jack Bauer's patience. And now mine! Chloe, go reboot yourself.

What do you think?  Agree or disagree?  Tell us your top pick to  "de-friend" – that is if you can tear yourself away posting "What's on your mind?"
