Plot Synopsis

Through first-hand accounts, archival footage and photos, CGI, and re-enactments, AUSCHWITZ: HITLER'S FINAL SOLUTION examines the development, operation, and management of Auschwitz, the largest Nazi death camp by the end of WWII. This series finally reveals the complete picture of what is called the "Final Solution," the Nazi plan to exterminate the Jewish people. Initially envisioned as a small labor camp for dissenters, Auschwitz was a low priority for the Nazi elite. When Hitler invaded Russia, an influx of Russian Jews, Communists, and POWs forced the Nazis to develop new ways to deal with their undesirables. Soon, Auschwitz was over-capacity and more people were arriving every day. In order to maintain efficiency, Commandant Rudolf Hoss ordered expansions to the camp. Plans for the "Final Solution" to "the Jewish Problem" are made as the horrors at Auschwitz continue.

On Monday, July 27, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, AHC: American Heroes Channel premiered the finale of AUSCHWITZ: HITLER'S FINAL SOLUTION, immediately following a five-hour marathon (5-10pm) of encore presentations of all previous episodes. In the finale, "Aftermath," Allied forces discover the horrors left behind by the Nazis; meanwhile, the Soviet army liberates the remaining prisoners of Auschwitz-Birkenau, but the suffering continues for many of the survivors.
