Plot Synopsis

TV's first interactive home-building series, in which viewers vote online to decide the design features for a real cabin getaway, follows DIY home improvement experts as they build the cabin according to crowd-sourced specifications. Once completed, the network gives the home away to one lucky sweepstakes recipient. Each season follows the construction of a cabin in a different part of America, including: Kinzel Springs in Townsend, TN, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Season 1); Lakefront Estates at Watts Bar Lake, TN (Season 2); The Preserve at Little Pine in Asheville, NC (Season 3); Bethel, NY near Woodstock (Season 4); a Chesapeake Bay getaway located in Susan, VA (Season 5); Waldoboro, ME (Season 6); a mid-1800s cottage on three acres of waterfront property in Atlantic, NC (Season 7); Winter Haven, FL (Season 8); and Coeur d'Alene, ID (Season 9). BLOG CABIN returned for its ninth season on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 9:30pm ET/PT on DIY Network. In the Season 9 opener, host Chris Grundy overhauls the frame of the 1970s cabin in scenic Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, while John DeSilvia makes plans to install a double-sided fireplace, wall-to-wall bookshelves and a custom butcher's block worktable in the cabin's library. Plus, from July 27 through September 11, 2015, viewers can enter online daily for a chance to win the fully renovated Blog Cabin, a renovated mountain retreat located in Coeur D'Alene, ID, plus a $50,000 cash prize. Nestled among the Rocky Mountains, the original cabin was rebuilt from the ground up and redesigned to make the most of its spectacular views of nearby Coeur d'Alene. On Monday, September 7, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, DIY Network premiered the Season 9 finale of BLOG CABIN, immediately following a three-hour marathon (6-9pm) of encore episodes. The season ender, "Blog Cabin Special 2015," features a showcase of the 2015 Blog Cabin in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with its walls of windows, breathtaking lake views, open-floor plan, fireplace, home theater, tower, deck and outdoor spa.
