Plot Synopsis

BOUNDLESS is a reality series that follows two athletes, Simon Donato and Paul 'Turbo' Trebilcock, as these friends quit their day jobs, travel around the globe for five months, and compete in eight of the world's toughest endurance races. This series chronicles both pain and triumph as this adrenaline addicted duo climb, run and bike up anything they can find, while testing their physical and emotional limits. Each hour-long episode focuses on a different endurance race in a different region of the world, including these races in Season 1: a seven-day race through volcanic terrain in Iceland; a paddle race between the islands of Molokai and Oahu in Hawaii; a 46-mile foot race with fierce obstacles including elephants and lions in Kenya; a 50-mile treacherous river canoe marathon in South Africa; a near catastrophic 12.8-mile mountain bike race in Utah; a 155-mile, five-day foot race through the scorching deserts of Egypt; a 142-mile run through flooded jungles in remote villages of Cambodia; and an Ironman, the renowned global triathlon, in Thailand. On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, BOUNDLESS returned for a 10-episode second season on Esquire Network. In Season 2, Turbo and Simon chase the finish line in: a one-day monster 137-mile mountain bike race in Austria; a 67-mile single day foot race in the most scenic areas of Northern Mongolia; a 28,500-ft summit climb to one of Scotland's highest peaks -- done in less than 24 hrs; a five-day stand-up paddle board race through 11 cities in Holland; a 112-mile self-constructed raft race down remote sections of the mighty Amazon in Peru; a 353-mile, non-stop bike race through the stark deserts of California; the hardest multi-day race in its class in Costa Rica; a 100-mile race section of the infamous Yukon Arctic; and a legendary 47-mile ultra-race in Mexico. Season 3 of BOUNDLESS premiered on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on Esquire. Over the course of ten episodes, newcomers Rory Bosio and Hunter McIntyre join Simon Donato and Paul "Turbo" Trebilcock as they trek across three continents and seven countries competing against each other, in pairs or as a group in extreme endurance races. Pushing their minds and bodies to the limits, the squad races against stunning backdrops of exotic locales that are enticing to the senses but camouflage the demands of the arduous terrain. On the premiere episode, the athletes head to the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo race in Tucson, Arizona. Considered the "Burning Man" of the mountain biking world, this competition attracts some of America's most eccentric mix, as competitors pedal a 24-hour loop course through the wild and dangerous cacti forest of the Sonoran Desert. The squad experiences equipment breakdowns, a race-stopping emergency, night time exhaustion and the fight to work their way onto the podium. Later this season, the quartet of friends/rivals will travel to the snow-capped mountains of Sisimiut, Greenland to the vast, unforgiving desert in Atacama Chile, a force to be reckoned.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT, Esquire premiered the Season 3 finale of BOUNDLESS. In the season ender, "Canada: 100km Multi-Sport Race," the Bruce Peninsula Multisport Race is a 100km competition that features 16km kayak, 62km of treacherous road and trail biking and 21km of running along the beautiful Niagara Escarpment in Ontario, Canada. In teams of two, Simon and Rory are confident they will knock the wheels off Hunter and Turbo. But with Hunter's "American muscle" and Turbo's "Canadian hustle," they are sure they will give Simon and Rory a run for their money. As the miles add up, and the path winds in unexpected directions, Hunter and Turbo begin to turn on one another, allowing Simon and Rory to play a game of cat and mouse to the bitter end.
