Plot Synopsis

Each week on this syndicated educational program (check local listings for time and channel), viewers are taken around the world to discover the most astonishing cities, festivals, landmarks and jaw-dropping works of nature, while exploring each location's history and culture. Intended for teenagers ages 13-16, each 30-minute episode of THE COOLEST PLACES ON EARTH features a minimum of three different locations, each separate geographically and historically, including: extreme sports in New Zealand; ghost tours in Savannah, GA; Tanzania; the Great Barrier Reef; the Amazon Rainforest; and many more locations around the globe.

During the weekend that started on Saturday, September 20, 2014, THE COOLEST PLACES ON EARTH returned for its second season. The Season 2 premiere, "Even More of the Coolest Endurance Races," featured some of the craziest endurance races in the world, from the tundra of the polar circle to the most active volcano in Chile.
