Plot Synopsis

DANCIN' THE DREAM is a half-hour reality series that follows hip-hop dancer and choreographer Kiki Ely at her Atlanta-based studio, AtLA Takeova, and her assistant, BeeJay Harris, a professional dancer for 12 years, as they teach eight young dancers, ranging in age from 9 to 15, as they strive to become tomorrow's superstars. In this series, these aspiring stars go through grueling dance classes to perfect their craft, and struggle with the impact of their career on relationships with family, friends and each other. Along the way, the kids master highly difficult dance techniques and get prepped for a variety of entertainment auditions and professional engagements, ranging from film and TV to music videos and concert tours. UP premiered this series on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 8-9pm ET/PT, showing back-to-back new episodes. The premiere episode, "Making the Video," introduces the eight dancers and their hip-hop trainer/choreographers Kiki and Beejay. Plus, the studio is hired to produce a music video for Jade Novah's single "Blood, Sweat & Tears," but not all of the kids will make the cut -- and only one will land the lead role. Then, in the second episode, "Flash Mob," Kiki and Beejay are hired to start a flash mob in Atlanta's famous Piedmont Park to promote its Green Market. They let one of the kids help choreograph the routine to the music, Leona Lewis' single "Fire Under My Feet," and post it on YouTube for the public to learn. But as the day of the flash mob approaches, Kiki gets worried that the choreography is too difficult and will scare away non-dancers.
