Plot Synopsis

Each episode mixes broad context and first-person perspectives from traffickers, dealers, users, law enforcement and medical professionals who take viewers to the core of the lucrative business of society's four most abused drugs: Cocaine: Follow its trail through the eyes of peasant farmers producing cocaine paste, a trafficker tied to Mexican cartels and a 28-year-old crack dealer in Miami's poorest neighborhood; Meth: Follow a raid on a suspected meth lab, stake out a neighborhood pharmacy where addicts attempt to accumulate cold and flu pills, and meet a neuroscientist urgently searching for a cure for addiction; Heroin: Follow this opium derivative as it begins in a remote Afghan heroin lab that processes the raw materials and then on to Chicago, where a dealer demonstrates its final preparation for street sale; Marijuana: Visit growers in Holland and Jamaica who are leading a horticultural revolution in high-grade cannabis, hear from users consuming for medicinal purposes, go inside the "Green Rush" of medical marijuana in cities across the U.S. and see how violent cartels in Mexico use marijuana to finance criminal enterprises. DRUGS, INC. returned for its sixth season on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Nat Geo. In Season 6, this series visits: Salt Lake City, UT, where Mexico's cartels are flooding the streets with narcotics and tarnishing the city's idyllic veneer; Washington, D.C., where a DEA tactical unit prepares to take down PCP kitchens that are toxic, explosive and ruthlessly defended; Portland, OR, where heroin-addicted homeless youth have succumbed to the allure of a cheap high; and additional cities like Oakland (CA), Baltimore, Atlanta, Dallas, Minneapolis-St. Paul, and Boston. On Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, Nat Geo debuted the sixth season of DRUGS, INC. In the season opener, "Flesh-Eating Krokodil," the program journeys to Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine to meet Krokodil's users and dealers as they reveal the true horror of this homemade drug and, in the process, deliver a strong warning to America.
Season 7 of DRUGS, INC. premiered on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT on Nat Geo. In the season opener, "The Real Wolves of Wall Street," the culture of cocaine is deeply entrenched on Wall Street and some will pay more than it's worth for the purest quality available. It's a buyer's market and dealers must compete to deliver first and close the sale, while keeping up with the changing Wall Street appetite. A new generation of brokers and traders are turning to a drug that keeps them performing at work. And police are coming down on a drug that they regard as Wall Street's dirty little secret -- which is quickly turning into an epidemic. Subsequent episodes in Season 7 chronicle how drugs and the hip-hop industry are intertwined, how an HIV scare has changed the porn industry's relationship with drugs, and much more.
