Plot Synopsis

Using first-person interviews, re-enactments, and original audio and video footage that was recorded during neighbor disputes, FEAR THY NEIGHBOR chronicles how minor disagreements between neighbors turned turned dangerous -- and sometimes deadly. Each one-hour episode documents a single story, including: a retired Vietnam veteran sells off a piece of his land to a young family in North Carolina, where a modern day Hatfield McCoy neighbor feud evolves and a midnight shootout ends it all; a family moves to a town in Maine, where a barrage of gunfire shatters them forever; a Los Angeles police officer terrifies a family; two neighboring friends turn enemies after a vicious spat, and both of their homes are burned to the ground; and a well-to-do man takes an argument to a new level when he hires a hit man to kill his neighbor.

FEAR THY NEIGHBOR returned for its second season on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Kill Thy Neighbor," a single man moves into his dream home in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, beside a single woman who is looking to start a romantic relationship with him. When he rejects her, bitter animosity ensues, followed by mutual sabotage and, eventually, gunfire.

Season 3 of FEAR THY NEIGHBOR premiered on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Nail in the Coffin," the promise of peaceful life in Tamarac, Florida is broken when the son of a newly arrived family befriends the neighborhood's most unruly kids. Bad blood between the neighbors boils over until things come to a horrifically violent end on Halloween.

Investigation Discovery premiered the fourth season of FEAR THY NEIGHBOR on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 9pm ET/TP. In the season opener, "Lust to Dust," after her husband dies suddenly, a woman becomes the relentless target of her overly flirtatious neighbor. When her brother moves in to protect her, he's put on a collision course with the neighbor that will only be resolved with bloodshed.

Season 5 of FEAR THY NEIGHBOR premiered on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "Desperate Houseknives," two families with several children between them get along famously until one of the mothers starts to dictate to the other how she should be raising her kids. Battle lines are drawn, violence flares, and blood runs in the street.

The sixth season of FEAR THY NEIGHBOR premiered on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT on Investigation Discovery. In the season opener, "A Killer View," a young family builds their dream home in the Kentucky Hills, but their slice of heaven turns into a hellish experience for the quiet couple living next door; a dispute over a shared road leads to fireworks, fury and cold-blooded murder.

Moving to discovery+ for its seventh season, the streaming service released seven episodes of FEAR THY NEIGHBOR on Thursday, February 25, 2021. The series continues to tell the chilling tales of those with the misfortune to unwittingly take up residence within a stone's throw of a psycho -- or even a killer. In the season opener, "Hell in Hawaii," a handyman who lives rent-free in the home of a generous friend grows increasingly paranoid about his neighbors. He endlessly films them and instigates fights until the conflict escalates out of control, culminating in an explosive act of violence.
FEAR THY NEIGHBOR returned to Investigation Discovery for its eighth season, which debuted on Monday, June 13, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT. In the season opener, "Blizzard of Blood," a single woman and her two young sons believe they found a perfect new apartment, but their overbearing landlord and neighbor soon turns their idyllic situation into a living hell of arguments and intimidation that ultimately ends in bloodshed.
