Plot Synopsis

A GRAMMY SALUTE TO... is a series of specials that honor musical greats with a night of special performances in a tribute concert. Recent specials include:

"Homeward Bound: A GRAMMY Salute to the Songs of Paul Simon" (Premiered on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 9-11pm ET/PT on CBS): Honoring 16-time GRAMMY winner Paul Simon and taking place on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, this special tribute concert featured a star-studded lineup of performers, including Garth Brooks & Trisha Yearwood, Eric Church, Rhiannon Giddens, Susanna Hoffs, Jonas Brothers, Angelique Kidjo, Ledisi, Little Big Town, Dave Matthews, Brad Paisley, Billy Porter, Bonnie Raitt, Sting, Take 6, Irma Thomas, Shaggy & Jimmy Cliff, Trombone Shorty and Stevie Wonder. Presenters include Sofia Carson, Herbie Hancock, Woody Harrelson, Dustin Hoffman, Folake Olowofoyeku and Oprah Winfrey.

"A Grammy Salute to The Beach Boys" (Sunday, April 9, 2023 from 8-10pm ET/PT on CBS) is a special two-hour tribute concert honoring the legendary career of the Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients The Beach Boys. Beach Boys members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston are featured guests as a star-studded lineup of contemporary musicians perform their greatest hits in the iconic Dolby Theater in Los Angeles: "Darlin'" -- Andy Grammer; "Sloop John B" -- Beck; "Good Vibrations" -- Beck, Jim James; "In My Room" -- Brandi Carlile; "God Only Knows" -- Brandi Carlile & John Legend; "Wouldn't It Be Nice" -- Charlie Puth; "Do You Wanna Dance" -- Fall Out Boy; "Do It Again" -- Foster the People; "Barbara Ann" -- Hanson; "The Warmth of the Sun" -- Norah Jones; "Surfer Girl" -- Lady A; "Sail on Sailor" -- John Legend; "Help Me Rhonda" -- Little Big Town; "Surfin' USA / Fun Fun Fun" -- Luke Spiller & Taylor Momsen; "Don't Worry Baby" -- Michael McDonald & Take 6; "I Know There's an Answer" -- Mumford & Sons; "I Get Around" -- My Morning Jacket; "Heroes and Villains" -- Pentatonix; "Caroline No" -- LeAnn Rimes; "You Still Believe in Me" -- St. Vincent; and "California Girls" -- Weezer. The concert took place two months earlier on Wednesday, February 8. In addition to the musical performances, the special features appearances by Drew Carey, Tom Hanks, Jimmy Jam, Elton John, Harvey Mason Jr., Bruce Springsteen and John Stamos.

On Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 8:30-10:30pm ET/8-10pm PT, CBS premieres "A Grammy Salute to 50 Years of Hip Hop." In this two-hour special, a star-studded lineup of hip-hop legends and Grammy-winning artists grace the stage for a special tribute concert celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, showcasing the genre's profound history and monumental cultural impact around the world. The concert special taped one month earlier on Wednesday, November 8 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. Performers included Arrested Development, Big Daddy Kane, Black Sheep, Black Thought, Bun B, Common, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Digable Planets, DJ Quik, E-40, GloRilla, Gunna, Jeezy, Jermaine Dupri, J.J. Fad, Juvenile, Talib Kweli, The Lady of Rage, Latto, LL COOL J, Luniz, MC Lyte, MC Sha-Rock, Monie Love, The Pharcyde, Queen Latifah, Questlove, Rakim, Remy Ma, Roxanne Shante, Spinderella, Three 6 Mafia, T.I., Too $hort, 2 Chainz, Uncle Luke, Warren G, Will Smith & DJ Jazzy Jeff, YG, and Yo-Yo.
