Plot Synopsis
This four-part series takes an in-depth look at the workings of some of Scotland's most magnificent country estates through the eyes of the current owners, the ghillies, the gardeners and the housekeepers, not forgetting the paying guests who frequent these stunning country estates. Filmed entirely in Scotland, each one-hour episode of GREAT ESTATES SCOTLAND tells the fascinating stories behind a different magnificent building, including: Inveraray, the castle that was the stand-in for Duneagle in the DOWNTON ABBEY Christmas episode; Dumfries, the interior of which holds a large collection of Chippendale furniture; Kincardine, a 70-room castle with a surrounding 3,000-acre estate; and Rosslyn, where part of The Di Vinci Code was shot in Rosslyn Chapel.
