Plot Synopsis

Each year since 1935, the Heisman Memorial Trophy has been awarded to an individual designated as the most outstanding college football player in the United States. Known initially as the DAC Trophy, it was first presented to Jay Berwanger on December 9, 1935. Following the death of John Heisman in 1936, the DAC Trophy was renamed the Heisman Memorial Trophy as a fitting tribute to the memory of the distinguished American athlete, football genius and former coach at Oberlin College. The college player selected for the award and a handful of other finalists are flown to New York City for the formal presentation ceremonies.

On Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT, Chris Fowler hosts his 30th consecutive enshrinement ceremony, joined by reporters Holly Rowe and Marty Smith. For the third year, the Heisman Ceremony originates from Jazz at Lincoln Center's Appel Room in New York City, where the 2023 Heisman finalists -- Jayden Daniels, Marvin Harrison, Jr., Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr. -- are honored. Heisman winners Robert Griffin III, Desmond Howard, Tim Tebow and Andre Ware contribute.
