Plot Synopsis

Each year since 1935, the Heisman Memorial Trophy has been awarded to an individual designated as the most outstanding college football player in the United States. Known initially as the DAC Trophy, it was first presented to Jay Berwanger on December 9, 1935. Following the death of John Heisman in 1936, the DAC Trophy was renamed the Heisman Memorial Trophy as a fitting tribute to the memory of the distinguished American athlete, football genius and former coach at Oberlin College. The college player selected for the award and a handful of other finalists are flown to New York City for the formal presentation ceremonies.

The 84th Annual HEISMEN TROPHY PRESENTATION, which took place on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Playstation Theater (fka Best Buy Theater) in New York, was televised live by ESPN from 8-9pm ET/5-6pm PT. The three 2018 Heisman Finalists (in alphabetical order by last name) invited to attend the ceremony were Dwayne Haskins (Ohio State), Kyler Murray (Oklahoma), and Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama). The one-hour program features interviews with the finalists and their parents, as well as live music by DJ TJ Mizell, son of Jam Master J.
