Plot Synopsis

KINDRED SPIRITS is a one-hour reality series that follows renowned ghost hunters Amy Bruni and Adam Berry as they help real families who are tormented by paranormal activity in their homes -- with the added stress that the spirits may be their own late family members. Scared by the mysterious happenings, but hesitant to pick up and leave their homes, these families have turned to two of America's leading paranormal investigators to capture evidence, guide the spirits into the light and bring closure to family. In the premiere episode, "Cabin in the Woods," Amy and Adam meet Catherine and her daughter, who live on a 34-acre property in Little Meadows, PA. They've been experiencing multiple things that they cannot explain -- smashed light fixtures, being woken up in their sleep and terrifying scratching noises. It takes Amy and Adam multiple investigations to figure out who is bothering them, but more importantly, can they figure out why? It's up to the experts to help this family reach closure by facilitating contact with the other side.

The sophomore season of KINDRED SPIRITS premiered on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 9pm ET/PT. In the season premiere, Amy and Adam investigate one of the most infamous haunted homes in America: the Lizzie Borden House in Fall River, Mass. What was once a private residence-turned-murder scene is now a museum and B&B, where many paranormal teams have confirmed that the ghosts of the home's original occupants still linger. Amy and Adam launch into one of their most harrowing investigations yet, but not to find the Borden family ghosts. Their unique goal is to help Sue, a tour guide, who believes her grandparents' spirits are in the house trying to protect her from impending tragedy. Amy and Adam, aided by psychic Chip Coffey, ultimately call upon the ghosts of the Bordens to help them uncover the truth. Do they get more than they bargained for? In subsequent episodes of Season 2, the duo investigate: the home of a former executioner who killed hundreds of criminals; a full-bodied apparition that terrorizes two young girls; a home where a levitating chair terrified a couple; a household that lives in fear when a malicious spirit targets the children; and more.

Season 3 of KINDRED SPIRITS premiered on Travel Channel on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 10pm ET/PT, as Amy and Adam enter America's darkest locations demanding answers to the most chilling, haunted mysteries. Discovering and confronting paranormal activity is just the first step. In each one-hour episode, their ultimate goal is to determine who or what haunts the space and whether it's safe for the living to remain. Their multi-layered investigations dig into the past in order to identify the dead and analyze the threat. With an arsenal of paranormal tools and their hands-on investigation style, the duo brings peace to those tormented by restless spirits by giving a voice to the dead. Throughout the 10-episode run, Amy and Adam's mission to uncover the truth behind America's most intense paranormal activity takes them to evil and historic locations, including properties that were used as orphanages and asylums, as well as personal homes inhabited by aggressive entities. Special guests also assist the paranormal duo including psychic medium Chip Coffey and paranormal researcher John Tenney.

Travel Channel premieres the 10-episode fifth season of KINDRED SPIRITS on Saturday January 2, 2021 at 10pm ET/PT. Professional paranormal investigators Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and psychic medium Chip Coffey are used to communicating with ghosts. But with paranormal activity more rampant than ever, they're facing hauntings unlike anything they've seen yet. Investigating America's rich haunted history, Bruni, Berry and Coffey dig deep into the past to identify the restless spirits haunting the country's oldest inns, homes and estates. Utilizing a range of tools and techniques, their multilayered investigations tackle frightening tales of possession, aggressive entities and even an eerie, centuries-old mystery involving a murder conviction based on the "testimony" of a ghost. Together, the team elicit shocking evidence and connections with the other side that lead them closer to the truth, as they search for answers behind each haunted tale. Amy, Adam and Chip are always challenging themselves and this season is no exception. The history in these locations is downright creepy and scary -- their return to the John Proctor House in Salem is especially exciting as they revisit the mysterious activity exhumed during their memorable investigation of the building during the "Haunted Salem Live" special. In the season premiere, "Devil in Salem," Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and psychic medium Chip Coffey travel to Salem, Massachusetts, to investigate the home of John Proctor -- one of the men executed during the infamous witch trials. It's not the team's first time at this renowned location having visited once before during a special Travel Channel event that was broadcast live. During the event, they opened a gateway to the dead using powerful magic, which allowed them to communicate with spirits from the 1692 Salem Witch Trials. Now, the team returns to Salem to launch a full-fledged investigation and learn more about the gateway they previously opened...and who came out of it.

Frightening stories of paranormal disturbances have ramped up across the country, sending this paranormal trio to help distressed homeowners and explore historic sites. At each stop, they discover the dire consequences of leaving these dark mysteries unsolved. "The paranormal anomalies and activity we encountered rival nothing we've come across before," said Bruni. "From potentially discovering a body in a basement to finding a 300-year-old haunted shoe -- this has been the most unpredictable and mind-bending set of investigations we've ever done." "In this new season, there are more family cases, new experiments that will blow your mind and some of the craziest paranormal activity we've ever encountered," adds Berry. "I feel like the universe opened up Pandora's supernatural box and we were lucky enough to be on the receiving end. We can't wait for the world to see every spine-chilling moment."

Season 7 of KINDRED SPIRITS debuts on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 9pm ET/PT on Travel Channel, with paranormal investigators Amy Bruni, Adam Berry and psychic medium Chip Coffey returning for 10 new episodes. In the season premiere, the investigators travel to Greene County Historical Society and Museum, a former poorhouse in Pennsylvania. For nearly 100 years, the institution was said to be a safe haven for the impoverished and disenfranchised. But, in reality, it was run more like an asylum. In the 1890s, a cruel and sadistic overseer named William B. Cage took over the institution. He was known to beat the inmates and he was even accused of chaining individuals in the basement rooms where he allowed them to starve as punishment for minor infractions. Interestingly, all of the inmates who made these reports disappeared from the records. Were they sent away, did they move or were they permanently silenced by Cage is uncertain. When the knowledge became public, Cage was removed. In 1968, the facility reopened and became a cultural center. Today, employees and guests report unexplained footsteps and many have witnessed full-bodied apparitions. Does William Cage or troubled inmates still walk the halls? Bruni, Berry and Coffey investigate multiple locations on the site, including the basement where shackles can still be seen, in hopes of resolving the pains of the past.
