Plot Synopsis

This animated series tells the story of a superhero named Major Lazer who, with the help of his two teenaged friends, Penny and BLKMRKT, fights against the villains that populate the futuristic dystopia that is Jamaica. A self-proclaimed Guardian of the Groove, Major Lazer vows to fight for the rights of the Jamaican people and to bring down the ruthless curmudgeon, President Whitewall. MAJOR LAZER premiered Thursday, April 16, 2015 at midnight ET/PT on FXX, as part of the cable channel's Animation Domination block. In addition to the reggae dancehall grooves of electronic music act Major Lazer (Diplo, Walshy Fire, and Jillionaire), MAJOR LAZER featured these guest voices in the first season: Jonathan Banks, Trinidad James, Aziz Ansari, Andy Samberg, Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, Charli XCX, and RiFF RAFF
