Plot Synopsis

STORM RISING is a one-hour docuseries that follows Reed Timmer and his storm chasing team, as they track down extreme weather events, collect data, and just barely make it out of harm's way. The series opener, "New Breed of Storms," focuses on Tropical Storm Cristobal, which causes chaos and uncertainty as it moves into Tornado Alley. In the second episode, "High Plains Insanity," with Mike Theiss away, Reed must chase elusive tornadoes in the Northern High Plains all alone. Later in the season, amid a record-breaking hurricane season, Reed and Mike race to collect data inside two hurricanes projected to make landfall on the U.S. Gulf Coast back-to-back.
