Plot Synopsis

Each summer since 1999, the TEEN CHOICE AWARDS has celebrated the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports, pop culture and fashion with celebrity presenters and live musical performances. Categories include the typical "Best of" performances, plus some youth-oriented categories like: Choice Liplock in a Movie; Choice Hissy Fit in a Movie; Choice Male & Female Hottie; Choice Summer Song; Choice Breakout Artist; and Choice Web Star. For the first two years, the event was held at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport, CA, and had been housed at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA from 2001-2013 until moving to a new location in 2014: originally scheduled for UCLA Pauley Pavilion, but moved to the Shrine Auditorium just days ahead of the event because of a water main break that flooded portions of UCLA. The event again moved to a new location, the USC Galen Center, in 2015, and then the Forum in 2016.
On Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 8-10pm ET (live)/PT (tape), FOX broadcast TEEN CHOICE 2017, which celebrates this year's teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web from the University of Southern California's Galen Center. Bruno Mars was honored with the Visionary Award for his innovation and contributions to contemporary music. In addition, Miley Cyrus accepted the Ultimate Choice Award, Maroon 5 received the coveted Decade Award, and Vanessa Hudgens was honored with the #SeeHer Award. Performances include Louis Tomlinson and Bebe Rexha; Clean Bandit with Zara Larsson; an opening number featuring KYLE, Lil Yachty and Rita Ora; a world premiere of a brand-new song from the cast of STAR; hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd; and French Montana, featuring Swae Lee with Uganda's Triplets Ghetto Kids. Other celebrity appearances include Adam Scott and Craig Robinson, stars of GHOSTED; THE MICK's Kaitlin Olson and Thomas Barbusca; as well as Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Zendaya, Chris Pratt, Lucy Hale, Janel Parrish, Victoria Justice, Tyler Posey, Camila Cabello, Millie Bobby Brown, Gal Gadot, Tyler Hoechlin, Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Olivia Munn, Bella Thorne, Kumail Nanjiani, Katherine Langford, Maddie Ziegler, Grace Vanderwaal, The Dolan Twins, Hudson Yang, the cast of RIVERDALE, Liza Koshy and Marshmello.
