Plot Synopsis

In this half-hour scripted drama, 14-year-old Maddy Smith is a special breed of human/wolf, who is incredibly fast and super strong with having amazing senses of smell and hearing, but she must hide her special abilities and lie to friends while trying to live a normal teenage life attending Bradlington High School. After a wolfblood's first transformation, they can change at any time, making it harder to control when they're angry, but once they learn to harness the process, they can choose to change at any time they like. On her first day of high school, she sniffs out Rhydian, another wolfblood, which surprises her, because, before he came along, she thought hers was the only family of wolfbloods. His arrival makes her secretive life a lot more complicated, but he's someone around whom she can be herself and share her abilities. Rhydian was abandoned at the age of two, and he's been shuttled from foster home to foster home ever since. Each time they move him, social services take away his friends, his foster carers, and his home -- but no one can take his abilities, which prove to be his instant connection with Maddy. At school, Maddy has been friends with Tom since kindergarten and her best female friend is Shannon, largely because Maddy likes Shannon's honesty, determination, kindness and no-nonsense attitude. Other classmates are: Jimi, the school bully, whose parents run the hotel outside their village of Stoneybridge and whose dominance at school is threatened by Rhydian; Jimi's sidekicks, Liam and Sam; and the Three Ks (Katrina, Kara and Kay), a rich female clique, who live on a diet of fashion magazines, celebrity rumors and gossip. Disney aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 8pm ET/PT, showing the entire 13-episode first season on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays over four consecutive weeks, ending with back-to-back episodes on Thursday, October 24.
