Plot Synopsis
Yoshiki and Hikaru are two best friends living in a rural Japanese village. Growing up together, they were inseparable. But six months ago, Hikaru went hiking in the mountains alone and vanished for a week. Now, Yoshiki senses something amiss and confronts him. "Something" has taken over Hikaru's body, memories, feelings...and everything they know begins to unravel. Based on Mokumokuren's graphic novels of the same name, THE SUMMER HIKARU DIED debuted on Saturday, July 5, 2025 on Netflix.
