Plot Synopsis

Supermodel Tyra Banks gives real people an opportunity to prove that they can make it in the high-stress, high-stakes world of modeling. Young women of various backgrounds, shapes and sizes must endure a highly accelerated modeling boot camp and face weekly tests to determine who will make the cut as they vie for a professional modeling contract that includes a fashion feature in Nylon Magazine, as well as $100,000 cash and campaigns with Nine West and Smashbox Cosmetics, in addition to a modeling contract with LA/NY Models and being named the face of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL perfume Dream Come True. Cycle 19 features the first ever College Edition, with all-new crop of American model hopefuls competing for the career-launchinggrand prize. In addition to the panel of judges, which includes Banks, fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone and new judge, former boxer and international male supermodel Rob Evans, fan voting plays a factor in who stays and who goes in the competition. Over the course of production, fans had numerous opportunities each week to vote online, through social media and via mobile to choose their favorite contestants based on photo shoots taken during production. These scores were added to scores from Banks and the judges to help determine who was eliminated throughout the cycle. Also, in a new twist, the girls who have already been eliminated were given the opportunity to return to the competition via votes on their photo shoot pictures, which allowed the audience the chance to save their favorite model. New to the series, Johnny Wujek serves as the photo shoot creative consultant and top fashion blogger Bryanboy is the first-ever social media correspondent. The CW premiered the 21st cycle of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT, with the second "Guys and Girls" edition featuring seven men and seven women living under one roof and battling it out to earn the prestigious title of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. Original episodes of TOP MODEL will air on Mondays for six weeks, with encores airing Fridays at 9pm ET/PT and original episodes moving to the Friday 9pm ET/PT timeslot beginning October 3. The panel of judges, which includes Tyra Banks, fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone and the viewing public, will be joined by beloved runway coach J. Alexander, making his return to the show, to determine who stays and who goes in the competition. Also joining Cycle 21 as photo shoot creative consultant is the sought-after photographer Yu Tsai. Cycle 22 of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL premiered on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 8pm ET/PT on The CW, featuring seven men and seven women, from regions all across the country, living together under one roof and battling it out to earn the prestigious title of Top Model. The model hopefuls compete for a prize package that includes $100,000 from Zappos Couture as well as being the face of their national luxury brand re-launch in 2016, a fashion feature in "Nylon," as well as being offered a modeling contract with Next Management. The panel of judges again includes Tyra Banks, fashion public relations maven Kelly Cutrone, and beloved runway coach J. Alexander to determine who stays and who goes in the competition. Acclaimed photographer Yu Tsai also returns as a photo shoot creative consultant. This cycle also features special guests Jonathan and Drew Scott who designed the cast house this cycle, supermodel Chrissy Teigen and fashion editor Joe Zee. This is the third "Guys and Girls" edition of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. Original episodes of TOP MODEL will air on Wednesdays until October 2, when original episodes will move to the Friday (9pm ET/PT) timeslot. Cycle 23 of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL premiered on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10pm ET/PT on a new network: VH1. The new season returns to the show's roots in NYC, featuring an all-female cast of aspiring supermodels. Singer, actress and entrepreneur Rita Ora hosts the reinvented show with supermodel and body activist Ashley Graham, Paper Magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott and celebrity stylist and image architect Law Roach serving as panel of judges. VH1's AMERICA'S NEXT TO MODEL preserves the DNA that viewers have come to know over the course of 22 cycles, yet the franchise has evolved to appeal to a new audience and reflect the modeling industry today. Tyra Banks, the series creator, original host and executive producer, still serves as executive producer for the new season, and Ken Mok, also executive producer for the series' full run, continues in the same role for the new season as well. In addition to role as executive producer, Banks is also set to make surprise appearances throughout the season. On Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 8pm ET/PT, VH1 premiered the 24th cycle of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL, with Tyra Banks returning as host and judge after missing the previous cycle. Tyra is joined by supermodel and body activist Ashley Graham, Paper Magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott and celebrity stylist and image architect Law Roach, who return as judges. This season includes guest appearances by former judge Nigel Barker and season three winner Eva Marcille, Director X, beauty and social media guru Patrick Starr, choreographer Jermaine Browne, supermodel Jourdan Dunn and Hip Hop artist Maejor among others; as well as a VH1 crossover with RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE fan-favorites Valentina, Katya and Manila.
