Plot Synopsis

In this daily, half-hour, nationally syndicated entertainment newsmagazine (check local listings), host Mario Lopez and co-hosts Charissa Thompson and Tracey Edmonds report from the show's set, while correspondents go on location, as EXTRA presents celebrity interviews, red-carpet events, on-set tours, behind-the-scenes looks and much more.

Season 20 debuted on Monday, September 9, 2013, with Lopez and then co-host Maria Menounos showing off EXTRA's new home at Universal Studios Hollywood. Plus, the season opener featured interviews with Hugh Jackman, Sofia Vergara, Celine Dion, Brad Pitt, and Charlie Hunnam.

EXTRA returned for its 21st season on Monday, September 8, 2014 (check local listings for time and channel), with Mario being joined by his new co-hosts, Tracey and Charissa, who are replacing Maria after her May 2014 departure. The season premiere featured an exclusive with Oprah Winfrey, all the stars at the Toronto Film Festival and New York Fashion Week, along with details about the funeral for the legendary Joan Rivers.

Season 28 of EXTRA debuted on Monday, September 6, 2021 (check local listings for time and channel), with Billy Bush returning for his third year as host.
