Plot Synopsis

Executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, STATION 19 centers on a group of heroic firefighters at Seattle Fire Station 19 -- from captain to newest recruit -- as they risk their lives and hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock. These brave men and women are like family, literally and figuratively, and together they put their own lives in jeopardy as first responders to save the lives of others. In Seattle, all firefighters are also trained EMTs and the crew at Station 19 is second to none. Working in 24-hour shifts, these professionals spend so much time together that they build relationships unlike any others. Practically raised at the station, Andy Herrera is a confident, badass firefighter who is also the daughter of Captain Pruitt, the formidable head of the firehouse. Captain Pruitt was Andy's primary inspiration to become a firefighter, and is a mentor to both Andy and Jack Gibson, the lieutenant at Station 19. Passionate and energetic, Jack is fearless -- just the kind of guy you want coming to your rescue. While Jack is fearless, Andy plays by the rules -- but when these two are together, sparks fly and opposites attract. Andy's best friend and confidant is Maya Bishop. A former Olympic athlete, Maya has an innate competitive nature that pushes her to be the best firefighter in the house. Meanwhile, charming Dean Miller is nothing short of passionate and jumps at the chance to be a hero. He is also very aware of the appeal of a firefighter in uniform and is not afraid to use that to get a date or two with the ladies. Travis Montgomery is the heart of the station, keeping everyone on track and helping his fellow team members grow. After a traumatic event, he is also a stickler for following the rules and making sure the newbies stay in line. As the youngest member of the team, Victoria 'Vic' Hughes is eager to prove herself as a crucial part of the Station 19 family. She often tends to meddle where she doesn't belong but rarely allows others insight into her personal life. Rounding out the firehouse, the newest addition to Station 19 is rookie Ben Warren. Ben traded in his scalpel for a fresh start as a firefighter but has a hard time realizing that emergencies in the field are vastly different than those at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. While it's a shock becoming the newbie again, he's learning from the best and is up to the challenge. The team also works closely with Seattle PD and often has run-ins with one of Andy's oldest friends (and former high school flame), Ryan Tanner. After a traumatic event brings Andy and Ryan closer, it's impossible not to see the attraction.

Ben and Andy were introduced to audiences on Thursday, March 1, 2018 during the "You Really Got a Hold on Me" episode of GREY'S ANATOMY. In this episode, Ben and Andy head to Grey Sloan after rescuing two boys that are injured in a house fire. With one of the boys' lives literally in Andy's hands, her skills are put to the test. Meanwhile, the doctors are hard at work on their projects for the Grey Sloan Surgical Innovation Contest; and Amelia brings Tom Koracick in to consult on her and Alex's patient.

Three weeks later -- on Thursday, March 22 -- ABC broadcast the two-hour series premiere of STATION 19, showing back-to-back episodes, "Stuck" and "Invisible to Me," from 9-11pm, with guest stars Ellen Pompeo as Meredith Grey and Chandra Wilson as Miranda Bailey. When the team responds to an apartment fire, Captain Pruitt takes a hit, the future of the station's leadership is in jeopardy and firefighter Andy Herrera is forced to step up. Meanwhile, new recruit Ben Warren is trading in the scalpel for a fresh start as a firefighter, but it hasn't been easy and he has a hard time realizing that emergencies in the field are vastly different than those at Grey Sloan Memorial. With the absence of Captain Pruitt, Andy and Jack try to navigate how to work together, and a car accident on a rural road puts both the victims and the crew's lives at risk.

The sophomore season of STATION 19 premiered on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT on ABC. The second season finds the team wrestling with the fallout of the deadly blaze. With a massive skyscraper fire raging, can Andy lead her team to safety? Will her former flame Jack and teammate Travis survive after an explosion sends them both into jeopardy? And when the dust finally settles, who will win the race for the captain position at Station 19? The life of their former captain, Pruitt, hangs in the balance after major health complications. No longer a rookie, Ben searches for his place on the team. Maya, Vic, and Dean are tested beyond their limits. And if all that wasn't enough for Andy, her complicated relationship with police officer Ryan grows even more complex as his path intersects with the station's. The crew at Station 19 welcomes a new teammate, a seasoned firefighter with a mysterious past. Season 2 also features more crossover elements with GREY'S ANATOMY. Seattle's brightest doctors will collide with Seattle's boldest firefighters in unexpected ways as they work side by side to save lives.

Season 3 of STATION 19 premiered on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 8pm ET/PT on ABC. The third season kicks into high gear with a two-hour GREY'S ANATOMY crossover event. After a car crashes into Joe's Bar, Andy and Sullivan lead the team of firefighters as they work to rescue their fellow crewmates Ben and Pruitt, Grey Sloan doctors and interns, and bar patrons before the building comes crumbling down. The unpredictable lifestyle and life cycle of our team of first responders significantly affect relationships inside and outside the firehouse. We'll see Andy continue to grapple with her father, former Captain Pruitt, as he fights his own secret battle; and Ben will develop a new emergency response tactic that will combine his skills as a surgeon and firefighter. Meanwhile, Jack faces moral challenges that will test his character; Vic continues to seek happiness after losing Ripley and will come to the aid of a good friend who is in desperate need of help; and Travis is forced to confront difficult events from his past. Dean will be tested in ways he never imagined; and Maya, always the go-getter, will make sacrifices in her personal life to achieve her career goals. And while Sullivan's feelings for Andy still linger, so does the debilitating pain from his recent leg injury.
