Plot Synopsis

FIENNES: RETURN TO THE WILD is a two-part docuseries that follows Sir Ranulph Fiennes -- dubbed the greatest living explorer -- and his cousin actor Joseph Fiennes, as they embark on a journey through Canada's British Columbia, traversing challenging landscapes and stunning scenery while tracing the footsteps of Ranulph's pioneering 1971 expedition through the open expanses of Canada. On route, they discuss Ran's historic triumphs, perilous expeditions and recent Parkinson's diagnosis, using this shared experience to strengthen their familial bond and create lasting memories. Featuring rare archive footage of Sir Ranulph's past expeditions, interwoven with modern-day footage of their Canadian wilderness adventure, the series offers an intimate glimpse into Ranulph's remarkable life. FIENNES: RETURN TO THE WILD made its U.S. debut on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT on National Geographic Channel, with the second episode debuting a week later:

"Hell Or High Water" (U.S. debut on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT): Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his cousin actor Joseph Fiennes travel through the wilderness of British Columbia. It's an opportunity for them to reconnect while canoeing atop a mighty waterfall and abseiling down a glacier. While traveling through the wilderness, the cousins' bond deepens as they talk about Ran's incredible life, the challenges of aging, and Ran's recent Parkinson's diagnosis.

"River Deep Mountain High" (U.S. debut on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10pm ET/PT): Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his cousin actor Joseph Fiennes navigate the region's natural wonders. Joe scales a mountain under Ran's expert guidance, and together, they go whale watching in Vancouver Bay. As they reflect on Ran's incredible achievements as an explorer, they discuss how Ran is dealing with his new challenge, life with Parkinson's, all the while strengthening their familial bond.
