Historically the last day of Comic-Con is the least crowded. However, this year Hall H was the place to be as GLEE, SUPERNATURAL and DOCTOR WHO -- three of the most popular geek shows on television -- had panels in the convention’s biggest room. With a lineup that strong, fans slept in line overnight to make sure they had the best seats.

The morning opened with GLEE co-creator/executive producer Brad Falchuk dispelling the recent story that Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Chris Colfer will be leaving the show when they graduate from McKinley High. In their current plans, the three stars will graduate this season, but they will still be part of Season 4. Confused? If so, read Daniel Feinberg's recent post, which describes his backstage conversation with Falchuk.

However, Chord Overstreet decided not to return to the show when his series-regular option wasn’t picked up. This is especially sad news for fans hoping to see more of the Sam/Mercedes relationship. Falchuk told fans not to worry about Mercedes though; she would definitely be getting a boyfriend and more stories this season.

GLEE co-creator/executive producer Brad Falchuk described Samcedes' relationship

as mirroring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Regina King in JERRY MAGUIRE.

Darren Criss and Harry Shum Jr. were officially introduced to fans as new series regulars. Criss and Shum won’t have to worry about relationship problems this season since Tina, Mike, Kurt and Blaine will all remain solid for the first part of the season. Criss didn’t confirm whether he was taking over Daniel Radcliffe’s role on Broadway in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” but Falchuk said fans will have to tune in to find out if Blaine joins New Directions.

Falchuk also confirmed that panelist Dot Marie Jones will be back as coach Beiste.

As for Sue, she’ll be running for Congress on a no-arts platform. She’s taking her glee club fight national.

Fans also watched two musical numbers featuring Criss and Heather Morris from “Glee The 3D Concert Movie.”

GLEE returns for its third season on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 8pm ET on FOX.

Second up of the day was SUPERNATURAL. Before the panel started, Jensen Ackles introduced a preview of his next directorial effort, which features guest star Jewel Staite.

When he was joined by co-stars Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins, Jim Beavers, Mark Sheppard, executive producer Sera Gamble and consulting producer Ben Edlund, they all received a rock-star welcome from the extremely loyal SUPERNATURAL fans.

Gamble revealed that Castiel and Crowley will appear in the first few episodes but that was all she would say. Also returning later in the season are Jo, Sheriff Mills and Death.

Gamble joked that she often has to call recurring actors and explain that death on SUPERNATURAL doesn’t mean the same thing it does on other shows.

She also shared that there is a plan in place if this is the last season and one if the show keeps going.

Fans were then treated to a clip of “Supernatural: The Anime Series” and the traditional SUPERNATURAL gag reel.

Season 7 of SUPERNATURAL premieres on The CW on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 9pm ET.

Next, it was time for the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond to make their Comic-Con debuts at the DOCTOR WHO panel.

It all started with a montage of part one of season six, then stars Matt Smith and Karen Gillan were joined by executive producer Piers Wenger, producer Beth Willis and writer Toby Whithouse to greet nearly 7,000 eager fans.

A hot topic of discussion was the revelation that River Song is really Rory and Amy’s daughter Melody. Smith and Gillan said that they, along with co-star Arthur Darvill, were running up and down the corridors when they finally found out the secret. Alex Kingston, who plays River, had known the truth for some time and was holding it over her castmates.

DOCTOR WHO producers said that casting Matt Smith (right) was easy and they knew the day after his second audition that he was the one.

Producer Beth Willis explained that even though they had trouble finding the right companion, she was confident because she knew Karen Gillan (left)

Later in the panel Smith revealed that Patrick Troughton’s second Doctor is his favorite, while Gillan likes Christopher Ecceleston’s Nine. Smith would also love to have JJ Abrams or Edgar Wright guest write an episode.

Though he suggested The Doctor’s tweed jacket and bow tie, Smith admits it was executive producer Steven Moffat who gave him his signature Fez after he kept begging for a hat. Although, Smith seemed sad that River blew it up fairly quickly.

The panel ended with a second showing of a preview trailer that included River Song with an eye patch, the return of James Corden, smilers and Hitler.

New episodes of DOCTOR WHO premiere on BBC America August 27, 2011 at 9pm ET.
