Plot Synopsis

Nik Wallenda is a seventh generation member of the legendary acrobatic family known as The Flying Wallendas, and this reality series follows him and his family as he travels the globe on a mission to bring the Wallendas' skill, passion and showmanship to new audiences. Nik uses science, skill and discipline to accomplish death-defying feats, relying on engineering, wind-speed analysis and the help of his crew: his uncle Mike, the chief engineer, and his father Terry, the safety coordinator. In this series, Nik tantalizes audiences with: a high-wire act with his mother, Delilah, in Puerto Rico that killed his great grandfather Karl in 1978; a feat in the Bahamas, where he traverses a wire between two towers of the Atlantis resort, attempting to break two world records; and carnival acts, where he walks the ferris wheel at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Through it all, his wife Erendira, who is the eighth generation of a circus family, travels with Nik and their three children. Discovery aired a sneak peek episode of the series on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 10pm ET/PT, and the series officially premiered nearly one year later on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 10pm ET on Science.
