Plot Synopsis

Based on true stories of World War II Marines. This epic 10-part miniseries tracks the intertwined real-life journey of three U.S. Marines and their fellow soldiers across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theater. From their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sand of Iwo Jima and the the horror of Okinawa and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day. Forced to endure extreme deprivation while fighting a brutal enemy who would rather die than surrender, these Marines are driven to the brink of their humanity.
