Plot Synopsis

BRANDX features Russell Brand offering his unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture. Whether he's telling stories about his encounter with the Dalai Lama, ranting about Charlie Sheen and pop culture icons, or polling the audience about history and current events, Brand discusses and jokes about what he "considers to be the truth about stories in the news." The first season was comprised of 30-minute episodes filmed in front of a live audience in Los Angeles, featuring no guests. But Brand was joined by former Congressional policy advisor and Harvard University graduate Matt Stoller, who appeared as the show's political, economic and historical consultant -- even though Brand wouldn't often wait long enough for Stoller's response before beginning another rant. When this series returned for its second season on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 11:30pm ET, BRANDX was more conventional -- episodes were one-hour in length and shown live. Plus, each Season 2 episode featured celebrity guests like Anthony Anderson (Feb 7), Kathy Griffin (Feb 14), Drew Carey (Feb 21), Dermot Mulroney (Feb 28), and many more.
