Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Nevil Shute. Remake of the 1959 feature. In 2006, a nuclear holocaust devastates humanity except for a lone civilization surviving in Australia. An American submarine commander and his crew, who survived the war and are now under Australian command, are sent on a mission to Alaska to determined if a faint radio signal from Anchorage holds any hope of survivors. Complicating matters is a love triangle between the commander, an adventurous and amorous Australian woman and her former beau,a cynical scientist assigned to the mission.
