Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Dominick Dunne. A wealthy, powerful and politically ambitious Irish-American family finds themselves covering up a murder that was committed bytheir callous son by buying the silence of a material witness--the boy's plebeian prep-school pal. After 13 years, a crisis of conscience compels the young man to confess his complicity in the killing which leads to his boyhood friend, now a smarmy congressman, to be indicted.
