Plot Synopsis

Based on the book ''Daughters of the New World'' by Susan R. Shreve. In 1910, an immigrant's daughter defies social conventions to become a socially conscious photojournalist. Her daughter, raised as a debutante, becomes the lonely wife of powerful senator. Her hippie daughter later becomes a doctor. Spanning 100 years, mother and daughter, rich and poor, each experience the passions and frustrations of the modern woman's movement.
