Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey. The story of strong willed Bess Steed Garner from her early days in 1899 Texas to her days as a great-grandmother in the 1970's. As a woman she seeks fulfillment as a wife and mother, but chafes at the traditional restrictions placed on her gender. Her fortunes ebb and flow; husbands die, romance blooms. The only constants in her long life are love, devotion and sacrifice.
