Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Gwenda Blair. The turbulent career of TV anchorwoman, Jessica Savitch, who's obsessive struggle to become the first woman to anchor a network news program leads her on a path of self-destruction. Indulging in drugs, booze, off-camera rages and a violent on-again-off-again lifetime affair with reporter Ron Kershaw eventually results in her losing herjob. While getting her life together she dies in a tragic 1984 car accident.
