Plot Synopsis
In 1913 Mexican General Francisco ''Pancho'' Villa conceives of an innovative plan to raise funds to help finance his rebel forces against the dictatorship of Huerta. He offers filmmaker D.W. Griffith access to shoot his army in actual combat. The crew soon find themselves in the thick of battle as they make the first full-length action blockbuster. Released in 1914, ''The Life of General Villa'' became a box office hit helping turn the tide in American support of the Mexican Revolution.
