Plot Synopsis

In Mexia, Texas, high-school dropout and single mother Vickie Lynn Hogan works at various odd jobs and dreams of a better life. Realizing the power of her beauty, she becomes a dancer at a topless bar, where she changes her name to Anna Nicole Smith. She soon meets and weds octogenarian oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, who gives her the love and adoration she never got as a child. Her career takes off when "Playboy" features her in a pictorial and she becomes Playmate of the Year in 1993. But after her husband's death, her financial support ends and her hard-partying ways, excessive drinking, drastic weight fluctuation and endless pill-popping take their toll, inevitably setting the stage for her tragic death in 2007 from an overdose of prescription drugs at the age of 39.
