Plot Synopsis

Based on the series of crime novels by Charlaine Harris and the twelfth movie in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries "Aurora Teagarden" Mystery Movie franchise. Librarian and crime buff Aurora Teagarden is joined by her mother, cousin, beau and members of her Real Murders Club at a resort where she will be speaking at a murder mystery conference. Speaker and prominent attendees have agreed to appear in resort owner Linda Bennett's murder mystery play that night. While onstage during the performance, an unexpected blackout takes place, and when the lights come back up, Aurora's nephew Phillip holds a bloody knife while the play's leading lady lies dying in a pool of blood. Aurora knows that Phillip didn't do it, but given the circumstances, the local police arrest him for the murder. Aurora is not about to stand by and wait for local law enforcement to find the killer; in her inimitable style of unorthodox and intuitive investigation, she sets out to uncover the truth. In search of the killer she tracks down clues and questions anyone with a possible motive. The investigation begins with only one or two possible suspects, but that list soon grows as Aurora and her friends discover more about the deceased and those in the town who might have cause to want her dead. Before the mystery comes to a close, all assumptions are swept off the table when Aurora returns to the scene of the original crime to look for more evidence. There, she is confronted by the murderer, who plans to eliminate her.
