Plot Synopsis
Based on the series of crime novels by Charlaine Harris and the eleventh movie in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries "Aurora Teagarden" Mystery Movie franchise. Librarian and crime buff Aurora Teagarden hosts her Real Murders Club's annual Agatha Christie Night at the gothic mansion of Gladys Allison McCourt. At her niece Lizze's wedding reception, Gladys toasts the couple then drops dead, killed by cyanide poisoning. When Gladys' will is read, everyone is shocked to hear that Gladys' assistant gets $50,000, while her ex-private chef a whopping $500,000. Her son Cade, who serves as CEO of the family business gets only $25,000 a year for 10 years, and the remainder of the estate goes to casual friend Aida Teagarden. Her curiosity only outweighed by her personal connection to the case, Aurora sets out to find the killer, despite the usual warnings from the police to keep her distance. Assisted by new beau Professor Nick Miller and her Real Murders Club pals, Aurora methodically assesses every potential suspect, of which there is a rapidly growing number. While the police conduct a formal investigation, Aurora embarks on her own unorthodox journey, questioning everyone involved. Before all is said and done, she soon comes face-to-face with the killer. With help too far away to count on, she will have to stall and sidestep the killer whose plot she has foiled...or else become the next victim in this sordid tale of greed and murder.
