Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Patricia MacLachlan. As a mother deals with the depression and guilt over the recent loss of her infant son, her husband, unable to break through his wife's protective shell, slowly drifts away while their 12-year old daughter is left to deal with the death on her own. When an abandoned baby girl arrives on their doorstep, the family takes her in, and soon begins to face their long held grief, eventually learning to live and love again.
