Plot Synopsis
In 1776, Benedict Arnold heroically commands his army in battles in Quebec and Saratoga but Congress fails to give him the recognition he feels he deserves. With only the support of General George Washington he reluctantly continues to serve the patriots' cause. Beset with financial woes and marriage to a scheming loyalist socialite, who fuels his bitterness, he soon changes his allegiance and begins to sell information to the British. His plan to turn over West Point to the enemy was eventually discovered and he escaped to England with his family.
