Plot Synopsis

In 1881 Dakota Territory 16 year old Laura Ingalls helps her parents and three sisters survive the harsh environment of the Prairie. When financial problems beset the family, she takes a teaching job thirty miles away. She soon begins a relationship with a rugged homesteader named Almanzo Wilder who eventually becomes her husband. After leaving the security of of her family to begin a new life as a wife and mother she later chronicled her life in the beloved ''Little House'' books.
