Plot Synopsis
On Dec. 1, 1955 Rosa Parks, riding on a public bus in Montgomery,Ala. refused to surrender her seat in a ''whites only'' section. Using her courageous act as a rallying cry, a young Martin Luther King, Jr., joined by Ralph Abernathy and other black leaders, organized a boycott of the city's public buses. The boycott ended in triumph after 381 days, and the Civil Rights movement had a dynamic new leader.
