Plot Synopsis

When New York event planner Rachel Davis gets the opportunity to return to her Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, hometown with eight-year-old daughter to plan the 30th Anniversary of Smoky Mountain Christmas at Dollywood, she jumps at the chance to spend the holidays with her family and further prove to her boss that she is up to the challenge of taking on a bigger role at Gail Lane Events. There is no place more magical than the spectacular Smoky Mountains at Christmas than Dollywood and maybe she'll get to meet the legendary Dolly Parton herself. She is teamed up with unimaginative operations director Luke Hakman to plan the event that has to be as bombastic and glamorous as Dolly Parton herself. At first Rachel and Luke, who is being considered for Dollywood's top spot as general manager, don't agree on plans for the event. But by including Luke in all her family's traditions the week before Christmas, Rachel convinces him that her ideas for the big event are right on the money. They soon grow close, and what began as a flirtatious attraction has grown into something much more. After hearing he didn't get the promotion, he accepts an offer to run a park in Georgia. Conflicted and confused, the lovers seem destined for lives apart. That is, until Dolly Parton herself appears on the scene and pulls a string or two to bring Rachel and Luke together again for what will either be a bittersweet goodby...or the first step towards their happily ever after.
