Plot Synopsis

Maya Fletcher and her husband Jack have just moved to a new town. With Christmas only 10 days away, the workaholic couple begin to panic when they realize they've done nothing to get ready. Their three children are having trouble adjusting to their new surroundings, and Maya has just promised to have a Christmas Eve party for her and Jack's whole family -- plus a new client in an effort to make a good impression. Jack encourages Maya to hire a specialist to help with the planning. She hopes Owen, the most sought-after Christmas consultant in town, is available. Luckily for her, he recently had a cancellation so she hires him. Unfortunately, she gets more than they bargain for when the larger-then-life Owen slowly but surely takes over not only the planning of the holiday but her family as well. She soon begins to feel left out, especially when the kids want to spend more time with him than her. Slowly she discovers the true meaning of Christmas and that hiring this pure-of-heart consultant may be one of the best decisions she has ever made.
