Plot Synopsis

When Martha Evans finds herself homeless with her two young daughters and stepson just a week before Christmas, she puts her trust in a new town full of friendly strangers and prays for the best. Her no-good husband, Cal, has left her, emptying her bank account and disappearing without a word. Hopeless, she takes the kids to a sleepy town where she moves into a motel and gets a job as a waitress at the local diner. She starts to meet more of the locals, including handsome sheriff Joe, and begins to find faith in the goodness of people -- until evil Cal returns to ruin everything. But that faith is soon restored when her new friends come to the rescue and give her a holiday she will never forget.
