Plot Synopsis

Preppy and wealthy law student Whitt Sheffield gets a class assignment to act as a mentor and advocate for Kylie Burch, a young, single mother who needs help finding and keeping a job. Given their extreme opposite backgrounds, they clash at first, but when her seven-year-old son gets very sick he sees how desperate she needs a job to be able to care for him. He soon begins spending more time with her, helping her with more than just her resume. As he becomes more attracted to her and bonds with the boy, his family and friends question his movement out of his social circle. Then, when Kylie and her son's future as a family is suddenly threatened, he discovers they may not be so different after all.
