Plot Synopsis
A Louisiana mother is convicted of having her abusive husband killed, and is sentenced to life in prison. After five years she escapes, changes her name and in time remarries but keeps her past a secret. She is eventually recaptured but with the help of her husband and a sympathetic lawyer gets her controversial case reopened which results in the reduction of her sentence to thirty years. She is finally paroled in December of 1992 after serving seventeen years.
