Plot Synopsis
Based on the book "The Mother of The Holocaust Children" by Anna Mieszkowska. Recounts the inspiring true story of the brave woman who saved the lives of 2,500 children in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Irena Sendler's job as a social worker allowed her to enter and exit the ghetto with relative ease. She used that advantage to mount a daring and dangerous operation to smuggle Jewish children - who were facing almost certain death at Treblinka - to safety. A 2007 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, Irena Sendler died May 12, 2008, at the age of 98.
