Plot Synopsis

Based on the book. When her husband and daughter die in a fire, a successful novelist becomes devoted to raising her deaf son. Her lonely existence takes a turn for the better when she enrolls the boy in a boarding school, run by a handsome, charming expert on deaf education. Their relationship remains platonic over the course of several years but they ultimately profess their true love for each other when she is almost killed in a car accident.
