Plot Synopsis
The tempestuous relationship between celebrated detective novelist Dashiell Hammett and opinionated playwright Lillian Hellman. Meeting in Hollywood in 1930, their love affair was marked by periods of drunken rages and heated battles. Both politically liberal, they were blacklisted during the McCarthy era. Although they suffered career setbacks their love/hate relationship lasted 31 years.
