Plot Synopsis

A lonely school teacher who has been caring for her crippled abusive father becomes pen pals with a prison inmate. The parolee arrives at her door but is rebuffed and turned away. She is hounded by him and eventually he tells her of the circumstances surrounding her mother's tragic death. It is revealed that her alcoholic father was having an affair with the ex-con's mother who, when betrayed by him, shot her rival, paralyzed her lover and then killed herself. Enraged at her lying, philandering father-- she kills him. The crime is blamed on the ex-con but he proves his innocence and the case in never solved.
