Plot Synopsis

Sequel to the 2015 TV movie, "Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors" and the next chapter in the life of young Dolly Parton. In Appalachia, Tennessee an unexpected blizzard threatens to ruin Christmas for the Parton family, while at the same time Dolly's father, Robert Lee, take a dangerous job in a coalmine to raise enough money to finally buy his loving wife the wedding ring he could never afford to give her. Meanwhile, an important person in town known as "The Painted Lady" begins to see that little Dolly's amazing voice and musical gifts might just be made for something bigger than rural Tennessee. With help from Uncle Billy, Dolly begins to live her dream of being a musician. When a mine explosion traps Robert Lee, the family turns to their deep faith and the power of love to bring about a Christmas miracle. *Dolly Parton plays the role of "The Painted Lady" and features her original music. "I was so overwhelmed and touched by how many people watched "Coat of Many Colors" and their reaction to it," Parton said. "The song "Coat of Many Colors," of course, has always been my favorite and has touched so many people through the years, especially me. It is a true story from a very special time in my childhood. I am so happy to share this story with the viewers and to say there is so much more to tell because mine truly has been a life of many colors. I hope the viewers will fall in love all over again."
