Plot Synopsis
Based on the play by Woody Allen. In 1961, A New Jersey family, vacationing in a communist country, mistakenly gets arrested for being spies. They seek refuge in the U.S. embassy which is being run by the bumbling son of the ambassador, who is away in Washington. The dysfunctional family takes over the place, ultimately embarrassing the U.S. government and causing an international incident.
