Plot Synopsis
Based on the 1984 play by Emily Mann. In 1978, conservative San Francisco city supervisor Dan White gunned down openly gay supervisor Harvey Milk and liberal Mayor George Moscone after the two men tried to block his political efforts. At White's trial his lawyers claimed he lost his mind after eating too much junk food. When he was only convicted of voluntary manslaughter the gay community rioted. After serving five years, white committed suicide.
